UNIOFOL SOFT PVC DAMP-PROOF FOIL
Estrich insulation - with UNIOFOL 0,3 mm and 0,5 mm foil
For buildings without cellar insulating against soil moisture is always important. For this purpose we offer 0,3 mm foil with overlapping or the 0,5 mm foil with hot-air sealing, adhesive tape or blanketing with tetrahydrofurane. Leaving out insulation against soil moisture results in damaging heat insulation and floor covering (molding, fungous growth). The foil should be put every time between heat insulation and socket concrete or if no heat insulation, between estrich layer and socket concrete.
The endurance of PVC enclosed from daylight equals practically to the endurance of the building. In other places of buildings soft PVC can be used for retaining vapor, e.g. when building-in roof rooms by taking into account vapor diffusion resistance.
Insulation against Plant water with UNIOFOL 1 mm foil
Insulation of bath-rooms, wet rooms against plant water can be economically solved by means of insulation with soft PVC foil. The foil can be fastened to the wall by means of strong Henkel building adhesive or with aluminum tape. Pipe connections can be made with sticking and strap clamping.
Civil engineering insulation with UNIOFOL 1 mm or 1,5 mm foil
ln case of soil moisture and ground water the insulation can be surely, quickly and economically solved with UNIOFOL foils. Advantages of soft PVC Insulation:
- Properties of insulation do not change for several years.
- Insulation can be made even below freezing-point.
Wall insulation with UNIOFOL 1,2 mm foil
The 25 m long foil cut to the width of the wall should be simply rolled out and can be stretched on the wall. It gives guaranteed insulation against moisture for the whole endurance of the building.
Making root protecting layer with UNIOFOL 0,8 mm, 1 m or 1,2 mm foil
On green roofs, in deep garages the roots of plant can damage insulation. If the insulation is not root-resistant, a root protecting layer is to be made. A perfect sealing joint is very important in order that roots cannot penetrate even there. A 5 cm wide seam is recommended.
Insulation of doors and windows with UNIOFOL 0,3 mm foil
The soft PVC foil is delivered in 50 m long rolls cut to the width of the wall. The insulating foil can be used for insulation of door- and window-frames as well as moldings against vapor condensing.
Pool insulation with UNIOFOL 0,5 mm, 1 mm or 1,5 mm foil
For insulating garden pools PVC foil is very much employed because of simple sealing, weather-resistance and easy reparability.
Thickness of foil depends on dimension and utilization of pool. Small ornamental pools, water-spouts, biologically self-cleaning swimming pools can be made depending on demands and purse.
In Hungary biologically self-cleaning pools can be established at a relatively advantageous price because of at present still cheap manual labor. For attaining a natural balance at least 100 m2 water surface is needed where at least 50% plant zone should be formed.
Insulation of cane root space sewage treatment plant with UNIOFOL 1,5 mm foil
For purifying municipal sewage biological purification is an alternative, environment-protective and cheap solution.
In Hungary the conditions are particularly advantageous for establishing such projects. Reeds of at least 5 m2 per inhabitants are needed. Sewage purification works can be built from family scale to one for habitation of several thousands. Microorganisms living on reed roots break down in natural way wastes. The water purified can be used for irrigation as well. Production cost of purification amounts to a few Ft/m2.
CELLAR INSULATION
For insulating building structures below ground level - cellars - against soil moisture UNIOFOL soft PVC foils in 1,0 mm or 1,5 mm thickness are recommended.
As trough insulation the UNIOFOL PVC sheets are laid on socket concrete and vertical wall bearing insulation by means of water-proof overlapping made with hot air sealing or rather fixed on vertical walls.
The UNIOFOL sheet laid on horizontal socket, concrete will be led through under the load-bearing wall of cellar and water-tightly sealed together with the vertical insulation laid on cellar wall or insulation-bearing wall.
In case of heat insulation or protection against surface leakage the vertical insulation bearing wall can be left off.

- Properties of the insulation do not alter for several years, since PVC does not decompose, its structure will not be rearranged.
- Endurance of insulation equals practically to the endurance of the building.

ESTRICH INSULATION
What is "estrich insulation"?
Insulation between socket concrete and estrich layer is named estrich insulation.
Layer order of buildings without cellar:
- Socket concrete
- Estrich insulation e.g. with SlCOFOL soft PVC foil
- Heat insulation...
- Protective concrete
- Floor covering
Why estrich insulation?
Estrich insulation protects heat insulation and floor covering against soil moisture. In addition it insulates also against radon gas.
What happens if no estrich insulation?
1. Insulation value of heat insulation decreases on the effect of the moisture taken up.
2. Floor covering deteriorates, undergoes fungal decay, becomes moldy, forms a hump likewise on the effect of moisture.
What is estrich insulation made of?
UNIOFOL soft PVC is recommended in the thickness of 0,5 mm, 0,8 mm, 1 mm and 1,2 mm.
How to make estrlch Insulation?
Overlappings are sealed together water-tightly by means of hot air or THF solvent cold sealing.

The endurance of soft PVC foil is practically unlimited on places enclosed from daylight, keeping is advantageous properties of insulation for practically unlimited time.

GREEN ROOF ECONOMICALLY
Ecological advantages of green roofs and their favorable properties are known by everybody. To the more and more wide spreading of green roofs contributes the fact that the roofs can be already made economically by utilizing domestic materials both for new buildings and renewing roofs by means of subsequently built-in horticultural layers
When establishing green roof the static load capacity of the load-bearing floor, the adaptability of precipation insulation (if root-resistant or not) and the type of desired green roof should be known: if an extensive or an intensive green roof should be established. The advantages of a green roof are included in improving microclimate.
They need no systematic horticultural treatment and irrigation. In case of overlooking they give aesthetic appearance and protect roof insulation from environmental effects.
The thin horticultural layers of small weight are excellently suitable for subsequent greening existent flat roofs.
An intensive green roof offer all pleasures and beauty to its user, although it demands systematic treatment and irrigation as well. It can be shaped out according to the demands of the client in several ways, limited only by the static load capacity of the floor.

For water insulation layer, protective layer and root-resistant layer soft PVC foils in thickness of 1,0 mm, 1,2 mm, 1,5 mm and in width of 150 cm are produced at very advantageous prices. The UNIOFOL soft PVC foil has been tested for civil engineering insulation that resulted in getting ÉMI suitability certificate no. A-41/92. According to the foreign literature PVC foil in a thickness more than 1,0 mm is root-resistant.
The foil can be delivered blanketed as requested or rather can be blanketed by means of the Lester hot air automatic sealing machine on the spot.
For insulating garages, bio-houses, green roofs the UNIOFOL 1,5 mm soft PVC foil can be recommended.
The 1,5 mm foil is furnished with protective layers above and below ensuring both insulation against precipitation water arid root resistance.

What does „bio” mean?
For bio-pools and bio-swimming-pools the suitable quality of water will be ensured not by chemicals, disinfectants and machines, but through imitatin of the nature and creating the biological balance.
The prerequisite to this is a sufficient water surface, water depth, plants chosen out well. Water can be provided with oxygen by means of fountains and water spouts.
How to make bio-pool?
• Where to arrange bio-pool?
The most suitable place is a protected sunny corner far away from trees. It should be integrated with the natural environment. Be its shape simple, if possible oblong, since in this manner it can be made most simply at home. Before digging it should be staked out the height of the water level around.
• Perfect profile:
Endeavor to make shallow the pool deepening gradually to a depth of at least 80 cm. It is possible to make planting also banks for plants liking different depths. Places of rocks and stair stones should be taken into account already when digging. UNIOFOL PVC foil should be treated wit care! Before making use of it check the foil ordered for holes. Don't put hot and sharp things on it. If the bed digged out is stony, lay a protective layer under the foil. With bigger pools it is more worth to seal together UNIOFOL foil on the spot. In hot sunny days the foil spreads or takes up shape of bed in a few moments.
• First filling up:
For keeping state of nature there is need for mud on the bed of pool. Here frogs and plants hibernate and plants throw out roots. Before filling up with water the pool should be covered with sand or gravel in a thickness of 8 cm. Put the nozzle of hose-pipe into a perforated plastic sack in order that water leaks in small jets and does not disturb up the mud.
• The first spring
Recover water loss with precipitation water. The water surface can be cleaned with fine slow moves of a bundle of twigs. A lots of grubs of mosquitoes and midges will appear in the beginning but don't worry about it, the moving state of nature will arrive in a few days and balance recovers. Transplant reed-grass and mud from a pool of pure state of nature. By means of them all small animals, plants and microorganisms purifying water will come to life again.
FIRE WATER CISTERN
For storing water quantity stipulated for fire extinguishing the cheapest solution is to make a basin with excavation and then to insulate with UNIOFOL 1,5 mm foil. Insulation included protective layer made on the spot costs 1000 Ft/m2 + VAT.
If once storing water, be it beautiful, too.
It is. not obligatory to make basin in geometric shape. If there is place enough, make biological pool self-purifying with water plants.
A good example of this is the fire water storage near ibbs in Austria made for the Haubis bread factory, being at the same time a bio-pool with a small island and fountain and plants.
Its water surface is about 1000 m2, with a volume of about 1000 m3, The water raising place is ensured with 3 concrete well-cylinders.
The sides of well-cylinders are pierced. The height of the water level can be controlled automatically by means of a swimming switch.
